Audiences for all Genres- Survey

This table shows the interest of film genres out of 5930 participents. I am going to compare the Science Fiction genre to all of the other film genres.

This table inform me that out of the people suveyed, Middle aged people (26-49 years old) have a bigger interest in science fiction films. By having a bigger percentage of 8.6%. This suits my brief as I will be aiming our film introduction towards adults. The younger and older audience has less interest compared to middle aged poeple. Overall, the science fiction genre is ranked sixth according to this table. This is found out by adding all the frequencies and comparing them with the other genres.


This table shows the difference in ethnicities, in their different interests of film genres. 5860 people participated. I am going to compare the Science Fiction genre to all of the other film genres.

This table shows the different interests which different ethnicities have. It portrays that the Asian race has the biggest interest in sci-fi films as it has the biggest pecentage, in being 12.5%. I think this is because stereotypically Asian countries have more advanced technologies, this could link to them having a bigger appeal towards futuristic sci-fi films. This could link to my film opening relating more to a Asian audience, as it would have more viewers, prolferating our exchange. This would be an effective way of targeting an audience if it was going to be produced.




This table shows the difference in gender, in their different interests of film genres. 5930 people participated. I am going to compare the Science Fiction genre to all of the other film genres.

This table shows that men are more interested in watching sci-fi films, as it has a greater percentage of 10.7%. It seems that males are appealed to this genre, as it is placed third, after action/adventure and drama. However, females seem very uninterested as it is placed 7th, in comparison the other genres, as it has only 4.6% of the total votes. This implies that my 2 minute film clip will be aimed moreso at a male audience.

Asian ethnic group

Males

This will help me base my film on a specific audience, and will have to organise the micro elements to support this.
